#Highfive video without hdmi pro#Had to buy Final Cut Pro also, as it wouldn't work with iMovie, so about $650 later and after a few hours of work I still can't do what I wanted to do: have a simple camcorder be seen on my MacAir. Bottom line: still have brand new Intensity Extreme, brand new cables, relatively new and pristine MacAir with never-used-before-yesterday Thunderbolt port with latest version of everything and it can't see any video input. I will contact Apple today and see if they have any theories. He said to give it a few days and see what the BMD engineers could come up with. I went on the Apple forums and did see lots of people reporting monitor problems over Thunderbolt after the 1.2 firmware update. His final theory: nothing I was doing wrong, probably a problem with OSX 10.8.4, but, if they can't figure out something then I could send it back, but he thought that in general it probably wasn't the BMDIE. #Highfive video without hdmi tv#Please help.Īfter 45 minutes on hold, a very nice Black Magic support person did spend a lot of time walking me through various tests to try to figure out what was wrong, checking the connection settings, checking the camera on a TV through the new HDMI cable, unplugging the Thunderbolt cable and plugging it back in, checking out the frame rate and the resolution (it transmits in 1080i60), and then getting a Blue Ray Player and hooking out the composite video out to the Intensity Extreme through the breakout cable, as well as us looking on the System Profiler about the Thunderbolt Connection. I have been playing with this for about an hour and am getting nowhere. I have restarted the computer a few times. Black Magic Design Desktop 9.7.3 settings in System Preferences is set to HDMI Video and Audio in at one point, but now everything is greyed out with No Settings Required at the top and the greyed out settings showing Set Input: SDI Video &SDI audio for no obvious reason, with default video standard greyed out and showing NTSC. I have generally tried MXP recording mode, which is 1920x1080. More specifically: In addition to various other settings, I have tried setting the Camera to Cinema Mode in 1080p24 and matching that on the Media Express Preferences, also tried 1080i60 on both with no effect. However, I admit total nubie status in this realm, though am generally pretty tech-savy in other areas (Logic Pro Studio, for example), but I presume I have gotten something wrong. I set the Vixia to various recording modes and nothing showed up on the Media Express window or in the Media Import Window of Final Cut Pro. I have everything set the way I think it should be and have tried multiple settings and nothing sees the camcorder. #Highfive video without hdmi drivers#
